This luxury footmuff from Dutch brand Schaapmaatje pairs a cloud-soft lambskin lining with a weatherproof outer. Your baby stays warm, cosy and protected, whatever the weather has in store.

The lining is medical-grade tanned lambskin, shorn to a soft, even wool length of around 30mm. Lambskin is naturally warm and breathable, so it holds warmth in while letting air move through. That keeps your baby comfortable rather than hot and clammy. The outer is a durable, wind- and water-resistant Oxford fabric that handles drizzle, damp and cold winds on everyday outings.

Why Lambskin?

Parents have wrapped babies in lambskin for generations, and for good reason. Each wool fibre holds tiny pockets of air that act as natural insulation, and the wool absorbs moisture and releases it again. As temperatures change, that helps your baby stay comfortably warm without overheating. Lambskin is also especially soft, and medical-grade tanning makes it gentle and durable enough for close, everyday contact.

Made for Changing Weather

The top section unzips all the way round, so you can open it up on milder days or when you pop into a warm shop or café, then zip it back on when the wind picks up. It’s an easy way to adjust your baby’s warmth without lifting them out of the pram.

Care Instructions

• Shake out and air regularly. Lambskin naturally resists dirt and odours, so it rarely needs a full wash.
• Brush the wool gently with a sheepskin brush or comb to keep it soft, full and fluffy
• Spot clean small marks with a damp cloth and a specialist sheepskin wash
• When a full clean is needed, hand wash at 30°C using a specialist sheepskin or wool wash
• Do not machine wash or tumble dry
• Dry flat at room temperature, away from radiators and direct sunlight
• Brush again once dry to restore the wool’s softness

Safety Information

• Always secure your child with the pram or car seat harness, threaded through the harness openings.
• Before using in a car seat, check the car seat manufacturer’s guidance on accessories. Make sure the harness still sits snug against your child, with no bulk between them and the straps.
• This footmuff is not a sleep product. Never leave your child sleeping unattended in a pram or stroller.
• Check your child regularly to make sure they’re not getting too warm, especially indoors or in a heated car.

Please Note

Lambskin is a natural material, so each footmuff will vary slightly in colour and wool texture. A faint natural scent from the wool’s lanolin is normal and fades with airing.
